About Us
About Pasco ACS
Pasco County ACS is dedicated to providing auxiliary communications and interoperability communications for Pasco County and its Partners, particularly in the realm of Amateur Radio Emergency Communications. We engage in community outreach by sharing educational information about storm preparedness and the importance of Amateur Radio. Many of our members also serve as BSA scouting and Amateur Radio Merit Badge advisors, fostering the development of future Amateur Radio enthusiasts and Auxcomm team members.
Always Moving Forward
Pasco County ACS encourages modernization and innovation in the field of Emergency Communications. To remain competitive, Pasco County ACS integrates advanced technologies that facilitate both voice and data transmission. For instance, 44.net IP tunnels effectively transport our data between repeater sites, while Winlink Gateways connect numerous communities. Our use of mesh networks, including LORA, HALOW, and HAMWAN, enhances connectivity for our teams in the field, ultimately benefiting community outreach efforts with partners such as Lake Jovita CERT and Traveler's Rest community. This commitment to Amateur Radio Emergency Communications ensures we are always prepared to serve our community effectively.
Future Projects
Pasco County ACS, in partnership with Fresh Start 4 Pasco, a ministry based community outreach and disaster recovery coordination 501C3 charitable organization serving as our fiscal sponsor, has a singular mission: to assist those without a voice.
To fulfill this mission, Pasco County ACS must evolve alongside the community. Our equipment is aging and diminishing in number, while the community we serve has seen significant growth. The youth demographic, deeply engaged with technology, risks becoming isolated from the essential agencies that provide assistance, particularly in Amateur Radio Emergency Communications.
We are dedicated to educating and updating our community. Our goal is to enhance digital and voice connectivity for Pasco County residents, bridging the gap between youth and the rich history, present, and future of Amateur Radio.
That is the mission of Pasco County ACS: to connect.
